They entered after Hurricanes Luis and Marilyn had struck in 1995. They spent three weeks swimming in the ocean until they reached the island of Anguila. Now, throughout the Caribbean, they have a population of FOUR MILLION iguanas. The government pf Puerto Rico is planning to eradicate them.
Fiji:
They attack native iguanas by hunting them or spreading the very harmful salmonella disease.
United States:
They live in Hawaii, Texas, Florida, and the US Virgin Islands. They traveled to Florida in a similar way the brown tree snake traveled, by boat. These boats carried fruit from South America. They also spread salmonella and hunt endangered and keystone organisms.
